Get to Know Me

Last month Dishing Up Chic reached 2,000 followers. In honor of reaching that milestone, I wanted my readers to get to know me better. I asked for questions that people would like answered on my social media and I am responding to some of them below!

What made you want to get into blogging?
I go into this a little bit on my about me page but, I wanted to share my passions with people. I’ve always loved writing and helping others. In college, I would do my friends’ makeup all the time, and they still come to me for advice on products.

When I started learning to cook, I would post my meals on Facebook, and people would comment asking for the recipe. Like I said I love sharing with people so, I wanted to share on a larger platform.

What is one thing you have learned that has helped make your blog successful in gaining followers?
I try and support other bloggers. I have networked with a few different groups and it really helps to know that we help lift each other up. Other than that, I try to be myself and share what I know and hope people enjoy it.

Who takes your pictures?
Most of the time my boyfriend takes my pictures. He is a really good sport about it haha 🙂

Do you have any pets?
Right now, no. I lost my family pet in March. It was really hard. I would love to adopt another animal, but where I am living currently, doesn’t allow pets. In the meantime, I am volunteering at an animal shelter as a dog walker. It makes me feel good to contribute in the way that I can right now.

What makes you happy?
A lot of things make me happy! Trips to target, reading, country music, being outside, spending time with my family and friends the list goes on!

What do you do for a living?
I work in marketing at an in-house agency that represents nonprofits and associations. I do a lot of social media and content writing. I like that I can work with a lot of different clients.

What’s your biggest pet-peeve?Ultralight_00000IMG_00000_BURST20180709183214695_COVER
Loud chewing… the worst!

What’s your zodiac sign?
My birthday is August 1st, which makes me a Leo. I think I fit the Leo traits pretty exact.

I would love to get to know you better! Leave a comment below answering one of the questions listed in this post.

Thanks for reading!

XO- Samantha Leigh

Thank you! Oh yeah if you have any questions let me know. It’s a no-kill shelter. They have dogs and cats. I haven’t volunteered with the cats yet, they have a process where you have to basically get certified to work with the animals, and I have only done that for the dogs so far. They supply the leash and doggie bags, and I can take the dogs out of the kennels for walks. It’s totally on my time which I like. I have to say it is a bit nervewracking getting them in and out of the shelter with all of the other dogs and people that are there.

Hey! We’re the same star sign (Leos are obviously the best!)💁 Loud chewing also drives me mental! So strange we have so much in common 🙂

Nice to meet you! I’ll answer the question about what got me into blogging as well…I started blogging because I needed an outlet. I wanted to have a greater purpose than the one I had in my day job as an office assistant. It was important to me to help people and to share my story and struggles for our mutual benefit. 😊

Congratulations 🎉🎊🎈 This is a great way to learn more about you and your passions. I feel your pain on the loss of a pet. I too lost my cat a couple of years ago, and I still cannot summon up the strength to get a new pet. Great idea to volunteer at a shelter though. xx
