In case you didn’t already know, I love setting goals for myself. I set goals throughout the year, pretty much every day. In 2017, my resolutions/goals were to move out and get a new job. I am happy to report that I accomplished both. I just moved out in December but, hey, I reached my goal by the end of the year. Accomplishing goals feels awesome! That’s why I am setting more for 2018.
Here are the goals I’m setting for the new year.
Continue to save money:
Of course, living at home, I was able to save a lot. Now, that I am moved out, I am hoping to continue. I will have to budget a lot more seriously, but my goal is to save a couple hundred dollars a month.
Run a half marathon:
Oh boy, I’m putting it here for the world to see. I’ve been toying with this idea for years now, but have always found excuses when it comes down to training. I would love to accomplish a half marathon because it will be both a mental and physical challenge.
Start journaling again:
I find journaling very therapeutic. Finding time to journal, on the other hand, is kind of stressful. At the end of the day, I don’t always have the energy, and in the mornings I am often in a rush. I know I can make the time to journal, I just have to prioritize doing it. Do you like journaling? If so, do you like to write in the morning or at night? Leave a comment below!
Plan less:
I am the ultimate planner. I can’t get through a day without making a handy to-do list. In 2018, however, I want to plan less and live a life less structured. Hopefully, I can relax more and fill my time with things I like to do, simply because I like doing them, not because I added them to a list of things to accomplish that day.
And it just dawned on me that I am currently making a list of things I want to accomplish in the new year and on that list I am planning to plan less. What can I say? Old habits die hard.
Anywho…I hope you enjoyed my goals for 2018. Share yours in a comment below!
Thanks for reading!
XO- Samantha Leigh
I find journaling really therapeutic as well. I don’t always find the time and sometimes I worry about whether I will look back and regret what I write if that makes sense? x
