Deck the halls with my DOs and DON’Ts for tree decorating

Do you suffer from O.C.T.D.D- Obsessive Christmas Tree Decorating Disorder? Do you find yourself stressing out over the placements of ornaments on your tree? Do you get your tinsel in tangle if your tinsel isn’t perfectly aligned? Well, I’m here to help with my DOs and DON’Ts for putting up the tree.

DOs:

Do put on Xmas music
Do put cookies in the oven
Do pour a drink
Do use ornaments that show off your personality. I personally love elephants and diet coke, so you know I have a few of those ornaments on my tree.

DONT’S:

Don’t stress
Don’t shy away from the classics, the vintage or the homemade. I have the all of the above on my tree it’s not only beautiful but I love that it tells many stories.
Don’t forget that not all trees are green. If you want to have a pink Christmas tree with pink ornaments do it!
Don’t listen to others. People will tell you how they spend hours on their tree, they have an exact place for every ornament, or they only go with a certain color scheme. Just because they do those things, doesn’t mean you have to. Every tree is beautiful in its own way.

What’s your favorite part about decorating the tree?

Thanks for reading!

Awesome post! I love the pic you shared. x My fave thing about decorating the tree is finding a way to take all the ornaments and little trinkets my family and I love placing on our tree and disperse them evenly and beautifully. It’s such a fun tradition!
