Like most of my makeup collection, I bought the next two palettes because of Casey Holmes. I have loved her YouTube videos for years. She is my go-to when it comes to makeup inspo. So when I saw she was collaborating with Smashbox I knew I had to support.
Casey and Smashbox came out with two highlighter palettes. One in pearl and one in gold. Surprisingly, I have to say I like the colors in the pearl palette a little bit better. I’m usually more of a gold highlight girl but the colors in the pearl palette are just stunning. I think once I am more tan I will be absolutely obsessed with the gold palette.
The palettes are $35 each. They come with 3 gorgeous shades and a generous mirror. Each shade allows you to customize your glow, from subtle highlight to a stunning sparkle. They are as follows:
Smashbox Spotlight Palette in Pearl
Turn it on Pearl
Crank It Up Pearl
Blow a Fuse Pearl
Smashbox Spotlight Palette in Gold
Turn It On Gold
Crank It Up Gold
Blow a Fuse Gold
In my opinion the Blow a Fuse shades are slightly less pigmented but work as a great topper to enhance the first two shades. The Blow a Fuse shades also have a slight glitter to them to add a touch of sparkle. I am obsessed!
The consistency of the shades is super smooth and buttery. They blend out incredibly. Of course, the makeup guru Casey included expert tips to show you how to use the palettes for three looks. She’s the best!
I love both of these palettes because they are super compact and easy to travel with. I have two of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter palettes and I love them too, but they’re a bit larger and tough to travel with.
As expected, Casey and Smashbox knocked it out of the park with both of the Spotlight Palettes. They have quickly become part of my holy grail products.
