The (deep) dish on my Chicago trip

Earlier this month I spent a few days in Chicago with my parents. It was a quick trip, my dad was at a conference out there, and my mom and I joined him when it ended. He’s been many times, but for my Mom and I that was our first.

My family is from Philadelphia, and I’ve always had a love for cities. After going to Chicago, it definitely holds a place in my heart forever. Here’s what I recommend if you are planning a trip.

  1. Navy Pier
  2. Millennium Park, The Bean (Cloud Gate)
  3. Architecture River Tour
  4. Sky Deck
  5. Art Institute of Chicago
  6. Chicago Riverwalk
  7. Wrigley Field
  8. Adler Planetarium

We didn’t get to do all of these things due to the short amount of time we were there, so I’m already looking forward to going back! My favorite thing on this list that we did was the architecture river tour. You get taken out in a boat on the Chicago River and a tour guide shows you the most famous buildings in Chicago as well as give you some insider info on their history. Bring your camera!

Of course, you can’t visit Chicago without trying some deep dish pizza. It was really good! So thick, I had to eat it with a fork and knife. Super filling too. It’s definitely an experience to do when in Chicago but on a regular day, I’m all about the thin crust! How do you like your pizza? Leave a comment below.

Have you ever been to Chicago? What trips do you have planned next?

Thanks for reading!

Beautiful pics! Chicago is gorgeous as all those buildings are new after the fire. I love that architetural tour. I prefer my pizza thin and brick oven. However, it’s always good to taste a homestyle Chicago pizza. xx

I love Chicago! I go once a year to run the marathon. I definitely eat my share of pizza! I’m only ever there for a few days at a time, so I try to add ar least one new thing each time I visit.
