I think it’s really important to set goals for yourself. I set goals all of the time. I have daily, weekly and monthly goals. Some are small like getting to the gym. Others are intangible like being more spontaneous. In addition to my everyday goals, I set goals for each year. So, in honor of turning 25 today here is my list of things I want to accomplish before my next birthday!
Plan a trip and go on it
I have been saying I am going to plan a trip for years and every year something falls through. Luckily for me, I have been able to hop on friends’ trips to London, Nashville, Orlando, and Virginia Beach so, I haven’t completely missed out on traveling. But I want to plan something on my own and commit to it. I’m 25 for crying out loud! Start seriously saving for retirement
Start seriously saving for retirement
I know I have many, many more years of working a 9 to 5 ahead of me. I also know that it’s important to start saving money early on and preparing for the future. Starting early will help me save more money and potentially retire sooner. Wouldn’t that be nice? My goal for the next year is to put away at least $100 a month towards retirement.
Meditate more
I just turned 25 today and I swear I’ve had several quarter-life crises. I am always moving and I want to learn to slow down and live in the moment. I think meditating and inner reflection will help me do this.
Volunteer
This is one of my New Year’s resolutions but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Now that I am officially 25 I want to start volunteering for organizations I care about like, women’s shelters and animal associations.
Go Cruelty-free
Speaking of animals, I have been thinking about making the change of only using cruelty-free products. Being a huge fan of makeup I’ve noticed some of my favorite brands aren’t cruelty-free. Because I care about animals I think it’s time to say goodbye to those brands and start supporting ones that don’t test on animals.
What are some of the goals you have set for this year? Have you accomplished them yet?
Thanks for reading!
XO- SAM
I went cruelty free with my make up this year! Elf, physicians formula, and wet n wild are all cruelty free if you’re going the drugstore route.

Thanks! I was happy to find that I already use some that are cruelty free. Now, I just have to part with the brands that aren’t and find new favorite products. It should be fun testing things out. 🙂

You should definitely start meditating, it has prevented some of my not-so-midlife crisis’s. Also, happy birthday!

I’ve been cruelty-free when it comes to skincare and makeup for about six years now. I’m transitioning all my clothes and accessories now.
And I can really relate to the travelling thing! I just came from a week-long trip in London (incl. a day in Brighton), and I seriously need to go on saving mode for my first car (hopefully bought by the end of next year!)

That’s great. I love your goals! I think the clothes thing is really awesome. I’ve been thrifting a lot more recently and it’s become a really fun hobby.
